Security Practices and Review

The beginning of a new semester is a good time to start strong security practices. We are encouraging you to develop practices to protect your computer user IDs and passwords, particularly your Login ID account. Your Login ID account provides access to your University email, schedule, transcripts, financial records, etc including eCampus. If you share your Login ID and password with others, they will have access to view and potentially change your personal, academic and financial information.

Here are some steps you can take to protect your accounts and information:

  • Do not share your Login ID account and password with friends, faculty members, or others.
  • Do not write or post your Login ID account and password in places where others can view them.
  • Create strong passwords.

If you encounter problems with your Login ID account, you should report your problems to the ITS Service Desk at:

This message is brought to you by the WVU Information Security, Services and Systems Promoting Awareness, Communication and Education (IS3PACE) Group.
