eCampus upgrade, bug fixes scheduled for 8 a.m. May 11 until 5 p.m. May 12

An eCampus upgrade set for May 11-12 will fix bugs and improve the functionality of the Discussions feature. Instructors and students will see a maintenance message in eCampus from 8 a.m. May 11 until about 5 p.m. May 12 during this important upgrade. When this work is complete, users will be able to view Forum descriptions on the Create Thread page and navigate between threads without having to return to the main Discussions page. This work also will fix some bugs, including one that has prevented users from embedding YouTube videos through Mashup tool and another that has affected the ability to print Student Grade Reports and Discussion Forum threads.

Typical January eCampus upgrade delayed until May by discovery of glitch

Information Technology Services will delay the next software upgrade of the eCampus system until the end of the spring semester in May because our teams have discovered a problem with the product.

We identified a major bug that Blackboard company cannot correct in time for us to test their solution and deploy it with confidence in January.

eCampus fix appears to be holding; system performance is stable

ITS teams have been monitoring eCampus throughout the day and have seen no problems with system performance. We believe the disabling of the Qwickly feature has resolved the slowness we were experiencing, so we will keep it turned off until further notice. 

Qwickly has provided a fix for the bug in their system. However, ITS will need time to test before we deploy it. We will let you know when we are ready to reactivate that feature. Among other things, Qwickly lets instructors send messages to multiple courses simultaneously. Faculty can still send messages to students through their courses in eCampus without this feature.

eCampus will be down for 24 hours Jan. 2 for system upgrades

The eCampus system will be unavailable for 24 hours starting at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2 for an upgrade that will improve security and add or improve several features. When the work is complete, students will also have free access to the Blackboard App for Students. Grades, course content and more will be available at no charge on iOS, Android, or Windows mobile devices.
